Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actor who starred in numerous films and television series. Her most famous role was as Kitty Russell in the TV series "Gunsmoke", Kitty Russell from the TV series "Gunsmoke" but she was also a well-known American actress. Her other notable roles included her appearances in TV shows including 'The Red Skelton Show,' "Tattletales," and The Edge of Night. In addition, she was a part of dozens of films like 'Stars In My Crown' 'Duchess Idaho", 'Cattle town as well as 'Miss. Robin Crusoe'and 'About Mrs. Leslie and 'The Adventures Of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boost'. Blake, who was once employed as a phone operator, loved animals. She and her husband Frank Gilbert and she were among the first who successfully bred Cheetahs. American actress Sheila E. Gilbert was a co-founder of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. She was even a one-time board member of Humane Society of the United States. In a discussion about the honors Blake earned and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was also awarded with the Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
