
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez 6 September 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout moment came from her role as Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Her performance as Tina in Fearless (1993), earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her leading film roles in the past include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) as well as Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). Her roles have included Broadway stage plays like The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. During the 18th season, she was a co-host on ABC's talk program The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School, in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens. In 1999, her mother was living in the poverty of Woodside Houses when she died from AIDS-related complications.
